This is a wonderful organisation. We were very impressed with the school. We were give an informative talk and watch videos of the school and the activities. Most certainly a place all visitors should see and support. Loved it.

The Visitor Center has a lobby, gift shop, and a teaching studio with video equipment and Skype-like communicating. There are about 300 children scattered in isolated areas of Australia and this school is for them. Especially interesting to me was the studio where there was a teacher giving a math lesson via Skype or some kind of internet technology. The... More

What a great place and very interesting to see how the children of the out back learn their lessons and communicate with their teachers. Seeing all the artwork and stories of these amazing kids was heart warming. Learning how the teachers interact with the children, playing games and dancing while being 100 miles away. Its amazing. I could go on... More

We really appreciated and amazed of their idea reaching out to children who cannot go to school because of the distance. We chose the right tour with AAT Kings, Tania our guide was funny, knowledgeable and friendly. She's very professional and witty.

Was great to see what they do here for students so far away from Alice Springs. Even saw and heard an art class and said hi to the kids on the screen and saw there art. They said hi to us too.

This visitor centre and actual distant learning school gives an excellent explanation and demonstration of how the School of the Air works. First you are guided into a room to watch a video that explains its' history, then you move into the visitor area that allows you to watch an actual class be done through a glass screen and view... The School of the Air provides an essential service to pupils who live far from any educational establishments. The service used to be provided via the radio but, obviously, this has become far more effective with the advent of computers and the internet. During a visit, it is possible to see and hear lessons in progress. It is also possible... More
