This was worth the visit and really showed how the goal had been used over the years until 1979 and gave a good history of some of the various uses it had and prisoners that were incarcerated there. Glad we visited and should be a...More

As visitors to Darwin we were looking for a tourist attraction that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Entry to the gaol is a gold coin donation so it fitted the bill perfectly. We spent a couple of hours looking in every cell, building...More

This gaol is only open Wednesdays and Saturdays but it is free and well worth it. Old gaol with good signs explaining the various buildings. Old restored 'infirmary' scene of last hanging - very interesting as gallows still there. Time spent 60 mins.

Had a good walk around, I found the old gallows area was very spooky and sad at the same time. Things were very hard in those days.

This was a good visit. We had a walk all around the area. The old gallows building was a very thought provoking look at the past.
