The Darwin Waterfront is a place that can and will definitely become a better place. It has so far a heavy and intense night life, but during the day tends to be redundant and boring. We did not see any interesting activity happening there or nearby.

But the place has decent restaurants along the deck and there are interesting new buildings and real state being sold and develop, there fore we assume this will at some point become worthy of more.

We saw a lot of commercial spots being re-rented or sold; still with old furniture and belongings of the failed businesses that were the re before; which gives you an alert of the local economy perhaps being in trouble.

we decided not to give it a bad review as it wasn't hideous, but neither a good one as the local government and private sector needs to be more sensible about what's going on here.

We made a fake request as we portraying to be interested in one of these commercial spots and the price was ridiculous, speculative and shows why many business owners here perhaps had to close and leave everything behind. Not fair; prices have to come down and investment needs to be made to support those business owners.

I hope this review may warn others and perhaps help in the process.

As usual we recommend you to enjoy our profile and we always encourage our readers to please keep reading and liking our very interesting and in depth reviews on everything: Attractions, Hotels, Restaurants, Museums, Airports and basically anything that is of interest and has a public service. Stay tuned.

Good atmosphere and family friendly. They have many restaurants around although the prices are sky rocket high with poor quality food. Even minimart sells a bottle of cold water for $4.95 whilst major supermarket would be only a dollar or a bit more.

Playground offers covered play area and seats for adults. The area is beautiful at night with lights but be mindful of nasty mosquitoes and other insects.

First and foremost when you hire a Neuron scooter be extra careful to make sure you have paid for your 3-day $25 pass and have received a notification of receipt... before you start riding.
I thought I had requested two purchases via my iPhone app but only one $25 payment was received. Then it charged me at 45cents per minute for the second scooter.
I don’t think you can pay for two scooters via the app, so I’d urge users to download the app onto individual phones and scan the QR Code on each phone just so you know you’re not being charged for extra minutes or kilometres.
This was a pitfall for me as I’m not very internet savvy... I presumed I had made two $25 payments but only one had gone thru. I then got charged an additional $26 for 4 small trips (verified via my credit card) before I thought I’d stuffed up...
in reality you would think their App could allow multiple transactions though.
Just be careful.

A great area to go to eat. Super fish and chips. The restaurants are great - unfortunately not open all day.

We went early and would have loved to pick up coffee and cake but nothing was open.

Warning - parking can be at a premium on the weekends.

We went there with our grandson and enjoyed the playground, shady trees and swimming lagoon. It’s a real oasis from the heat of Darwin with a great variety of cafes, restaurants, bars and ice cream spots. It is immaculately kept and a very pleasant place to spend the day. Sometimes there are also movies and concerts or craft fairs.

This district is a significant and important focal point for visitors to Darwin, and has been drawing in visitors since it opened in 2010. It’s Darwin’s premier entertainment district, and offers a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment activities.

There’s over 20 dining options, including restaurants, pubs, ice-creameries and coffee shops. There’s an eclectic though small range of retail outlets mainly catering to the tourist crowd with clothing items, jewellery and quirky boutique goods. There’s a wave pool, and a simulated beach and bathing area for relaxing and sunbathing. There’s also an Aqua Park, though the cost to use that is quite steep, at $25 per one hour session.

The area is nicely maintained, with neat lawns and lots of flowering trees and shrubs, some interesting sculptures, and a walkway that connects an old historic wharf to the precinct.

A visit to this precinct should certainly be included in any visit to Darwin. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the business heart of Darwin. There’s a number of hotels on site, and a number of car parks. It’s a pleasant spot to while away a few hours.

This is a great place to sit back and enjoy one of the best sunsets you will ever see and if that doesn't get you then you can feed the abundant fish chips while having your own meal.
Plenty of well priced eateries along the wharf as well as a few posh places (that's Darwin posh).
The RFDS and Darwin Bombing experience is also located here and are well worth a visit.

When visiting Darwin city this is the place to have a walk around as both times we have been it was a Saturday and had like small kids activity/markets on and Dj. Atmosphere was lovely surrounded by restaurants and swimming areas. Just a chill out area to enjoy a meal or ice cream. Very clean and lots of seating. Has a wave pool or lagoon area for swimming. Lots of walking paths.

Waterfront was well designed to attract visitors with the area smartly utilized, incorporating lot of spaces for different fun activities. This very methodically laid out area had almost all the amenities we needed as travellers. From the city the waterfront was accessible easily on an elevated pedestrian walkway which was well protected by a roof so that one would not get drenched during bad weather conditions. Access was well illuminated in the night with an elevator to get to the ground level. There were some beautiful sculptures of "Jipijonton" or "Jabiru" birds, paintings and real palms decorating this area which was connected to the dining and shopping precinct of the waterfront. Well surfaced pathways meandering through the area led us across the park area to the Wave Lagoon, Recreational Lagoon and the Darwin convention centre. The convention centre was an attractive building which was elegantly lit up with hues of blue in the night. Wave Lagoon was very popular with tourists and in a warm day the pool was a great comforter that was filled with fun. Adjoining the Lagoon were several breakwater piers creating some calmer water basins where we observed an Aquapark with sports activity being offered. In the same neighbourhood there were jet ski or water scooters, tour boats and the Stokes Hill wharf where we were able to enjoy the harbour views, watch sailing ships, boats and birds with dining facilities. The Jetty was also in the same surroundings. The entire area was very picturesque and methodically put to good use.
