Beautiful clear water and a fun rock waterslide. This was one of the highlights of my trip. Bring old bathers or shorts as the rock slime can stain and the rocks damage fabric. The current can be strong so swimming here is not for children, people who can't swim, or wimps. If bruises and the possibility of a minor cut... More

What can I say, Hhmm, picturesque, green, refreshing, tropical, rocky, magical, fun, truly a Far North Queensland experience not to be missed. I think this is one of the better waterfalls and swimming holes. It has a natural water slide but wear durable shorts as the rock waterslide will destroy anything flimsy. I would also advise wearing river shoes or... More

An awesome beautiful place. Something you must see if you are in Cairns, the water was cool and delightful, sliding down the rock fall was soooooo much fun. A natural wonder

Its about 1.25 hours drive south of cairns and worth it. Because it had been raining there was plenty of water in the falls and it was nice and refreshing. The swimming hole is nice and deep and quite spacious so even when a few people are there we had plenty of space to swim in. Well worth the drive.

We hired a car to drive around all the waterfalls in the Tableland area. Enjoyed the trip but if you are short of time and you want to have a nice swim and take great photos- Josephine Falls is the place for it. Don't waste your time going anywhere else and forget Mossman Gorge. This is better and the entrance... More

What North Queensland does best - swimming holes. Pure, clear, cold mountain water. Either relax in the rapids for a spa, challenge yourself on the rock slides, or go rock hopping and explore downstream. TIP - Bring a pair of denim shorts to wear on the rock slides or you will wear holes in your swimmers. Not suitable for the... More

Obviously due to its amazing beauty it was extremely busy with lots of tour buses & groups there. Worth the effort but be prepared for lots of other visitors also.

On the way between Cairns and Townsville, a nice stop for a dip in freshwater. You will probably not be the only one but that doesn't prevent to be a good stop for a swim and a lunch! And it is free!

Really neat area with fun natural water slide. Perfect for a hot day as the water is very clean and cool. Not great for small children. Would only recommend teenagers and up. Follow the signs because the upper falls looked quite dangerous. The lower swimming area was a lot of fun. Bring water shoes if you don't like walking in... More
