Stayed in the Royal on the Park which is opposite the Gardens so went for a walk. Very enjoyable with interesting plants & trees plus wildlife. Nice friendly market at the entrance with lots of folks having coffee and breakfast

Incredible for the plant lover and basic sightseer alike. Overall a beautiful place to explore, with an added educational experience. It was fun to learn about different Australian species, and we also loved the fern exhibit, bonsai trees, and animals roaming around.

I walk around these extensive gardens every time I visit Brisbane as they are a real gem in the middle of the city. The cafe in the gardens has a nice setting. Combine this with a walk along South Bank between the 2 bridges for...More

We drove through the gardens to get a sense of the space - was quite nice, would suit people with limited mobility. We visited on a Monday and so the observatory was closed. Japanese gardens were beautiful, kids enjoyed the walk.

The gardens are just a few minutes walk from the CBD and close proximity to all the hotels. Ideal for a walk before starting the day. The path takes you down to the river which you can then continue on to eagle pier.

The Botanical Gardens on the shoulders of Mt. Coot-tha are extensive and quite well labeled. There are a number of specialty gardens including a bonsai display house that is very well laid out and labeled.

We had a little walk along the river and through the park. Very much enjoyed it - in the middle of the city.

No I am pretty sure they are not permitted entry at all to Mount Cootha Botanical Gardens due to the wildlife (waterfowl and reptiles) plus the extensive botanical collection. There are other nice parks nearby, Anzac Park... More

I agree with the above answers, duration just depends on your plans. Entry is free. There is a city bike station (bay of yellow bikes) where you can hire to ride around the gardens. They require prior online registration... More
