The parklands are still fine, and the beach remains popular. But the restaurants along Little Stanley Street are frankly disappointing. Most are burger joints, pizza parlours, kebab shops or faux Mexican. Good restaurants like Del Ugo, Piaf's, the Sardine Tin, Fifth Element and the Japanese have all gone. They have been replaced, perhaps ousted?, by a mediocre collection of not... More

South Bank caters for everyone, any age, any interest. There is always something going on, all year round. Don't forget to try Brandon's cafe in the middle of the Goodwill Bridge. A must for a coffee break with an amazing view.

A lovely scenic walk, no matter what time of day or year. Often go with friends or with my family and always have a lovely time. There is plenty of grassland and benches in the shade of big trees. And its free! A great way to get to the cultural precinct.

My wife and I were looking for an interesting and leisurely way to spend the one day we had available to visit Brisbane. Fortunately we found a self-guided walking tour online that included several historic and architectural highlights, the gem of which was our stroll along the south bank of the river between the Godwill and Kurlipa pedestrian bridges. This... More

Swimming, shopping, relaxing on the lawn, enjoying the street performance and excellent markets on Saturday. The landscaping is amazing! It's absolutely gorgeous what they did with the site after Expo 88. The gardens are seriously gorgeous with fantastic photo opportunities and there are ferry stops and water taxi ranks to boot. The parklands connect to other attractions such as The... More

The beaches, the big wheel, museums, Imax theatre, side street cafes, restaurants, accommodation, Nepalese temple, the tranquil rain-forests, the fast city cat ferries, BBQ facilities, Goodwill Bridge pedestrian bridge that takes you to the city botanical gardens, maritime museum, QPAC, South Bank lifestyle markets (Fri's-Sun), the arch of flowers (about 60m long) covered with bougainvillea's to name some. A great... More
