The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is a single institution located across two adjacent river-side buildings in the Cultural Precinct at Brisbane's South Bank.

QAGOMA holds a collection of historical, modern and contemporary art, and stages a dynamic program of Australian and international exhibitions. We are home to the Children's Art Centre which collaborates on interactive artworks with leading artists from around the world, and the Australian Cinematheque, the only dedicated cinema facility in an Australian art museum.

QAGOMA operates its own retail outlets and cafes and restaurants, proceeds from which support the Gallery.

Great place to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Lovely restaurant, great cinema showing interesting movies, and the gift shop is always a great place for quirky gifts.

If you visit museums regularly this museum will not surprise you. There are to my opinion no pieces of art for which you would like to take a detour except the Aboriginal art. The building itself is relatively small but has absolutely some exposure. The same counts for the cafe garden with a few statues. What makes this museum attractive... More

We visited the art gallery and enjoyed wandering around, though it was slightly disappointing that some of the gallery was closed for renovations. There was a selection of paintings on a mesh wall in the foyer to give you a taste of what else the gallery owned but couldn't put on display. However there was a large room with no... More

We took a guided tour of the highlights and got a good description of the best art in the gallery, some of which I'd have passed unthinking. Although to be honest some of them I still didn't 'get'. At the moment there is some work underway and the paintings effected have been moved to a wall with digital touch screens... More

Whilst down in the smoke to meet up with fifo cost centre we planned to see the new exhibition which was not disappointing. We can only visit 3 or 4 times a year so there is always something new. Of note to us was the vase of WA flowers which used a few lines of perspective to make the gums... More

Interesting art gallery with lovely water bridge entrance and a great café with good food and some apparently resident lizards sunning themselves. Also of note is the fact that you can leave your suitcases safely at the bag check area for free - important when there are next to no storage lockers in the city. We had a few hours... More

Didn't enjoy this as much as GOMA but traditional art isn't my thing. Was still nice to wander through

Wonderful collection of Australian art. Not a big gallery, but the collection and display is worth a visit.

loved the entry, and the water feature with a bridge. At present is an aboriginal expo. The 2 story wall showcasing lots of paintings of history. All exhibits have a sheet or list of all pictures and descriptions. Includes mini theatre.
