Great drive from Brisbane. Suggest the scenic drive over mt glorious to get there. Picnic grounds at cormorant bay are fantastic. Clean electric BBQ. Plenty of tables and parking. Clean toilets and big playgrounds. Very well maintained and great view from tables.

It is wonderful, love going there,, the whole place is just magnificent, go and see. There's always people in their kayaks, and very popular for camping.

If you are a freshwater fisherman, this is the place for BIG BASS in the Brisbane area. Fish are big and fat. Lures of baits. Now is a great time!!

Nets are permitted, however THE fun of fishing is the act. I strongly recommend you use a line, relax and enjoy all Wivenhoe has to offer in terms of fun fishing.

No - cast netting etc. is banned in fresh water dams in Queensland. Refer to the somerset fishing website for further details on size & catch limits etc. You can have four pots / cannister traps etc. per person though.
