The Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) is a single institution located across two adjacent river-side buildings in the Cultural Precinct at Brisbane's South Bank. QAGOMA holds a collection of historical, modern and contemporary art, and stages a dynamic program of Australian and international exhibitions. We are home to the Children's Art Centre which collaborates on interactive artworks with leading artists from around the world, and the Australian Cinematheque, the only dedicated cinema facility in an Australian art museum. QAGOMA operates its own retail outlets and cafes and restaurants, proceeds from which support the Gallery.

Apart from the interesting modern art displays that change throughout the year, it is a beautiful modern building design to capture the views of the Brisbane river. There is a floor to ceiling area of glass with comfy lounges to sit, relax and admire the...More

The marvel exhibition was brilliant. So much to see and a lot of interactive things to do. Well worth the $25 fee to get in. Unfortunately we didn't see any other parts of the gallery but the staff we came into contact with were really...More

Open spaces, beautifully designed exhibitions, a well balanced mix of old & new, transient & permanent. Not the wonder moments of MONA in Hobart, but would rate above the TATE modern in London....a clever accomplishment of balance.

The Marvel : Creating the cinematic universe is an outstanding exhibition. All ages are catered for and the scale of the collection is certainly value for money. Go on a Wednesday night - open till 9pm and you will probably miss the crowds.

Find yourself in Brisbane with a few hours to spare? I did. From Roma Street Station I walked across the very stylish new pedestrian bridge to GOMA, arty Brisbane's newest jewel. Alas, this approach puts you at the back of the gallery, but once I...More

We often find ourselves at GOMA. There are great exhibits and it's family friendly as well. This is not my best picture but a fascinating exhibit I often think about. We park in the city and walk over to the gallery.
