I contacted Torben as he offered for us to fly to the Tip from Mareeba. Torben found another (delightful ) couple to travel with us. Communication was prompt and informative. On arrival at Mareeba Airport we we given a comprehensive safety demonstration. During our fuel stop in Cooktown, we were provided with Danish pastries for morning tea (and during the flight there was also cold water, chocolates and nuts). Torben flew low over points of interest and banked so each side got a great view. He was most knowledgeable about the region. Torben had organised for the next part of our tour with the Bamaga Lodge. we were met with an air conditioned immaculate 4WD and a fresh cut lunch. On arrival at the tip, both the diver and Torben ensured that everyone in our small group was able to get to the ‘sign”. our accomodation was cool, clean and well appointed with quality tea and coffee facilities. A two course dinner was was included that night as well as breakfast the next morning. We were driven back to Bamaga airport where Torben spent some time fastidiously checking the plane and refuelling. Again we were provided with pastries and other nibbles for the flight. Thank you Torben for the wonderful personalised experience.

Flew towards Cape Tribulation before heading out across the reef, an amazing experience and so lucky to be doing an Exclusive Air Tour with Torben as he was informative and just loves the reef. Great value for money experience.

We booked a Scenic B flight a day in advance. On the phone really friendly and helped us out greatly. On the morning itself the pilot called us to ask if it was possible to fly an hour later because the weather would be better, what a service!! We were picked up by the pilot himself and drove to the airport. Once in the plane, it was a hot day (32 degrees), we started flying. Up in the sky I didn’t mind the heat at all. It was simply amazing. What a spectacular view, we have been snorkling the day before but to be honest this experience was better. It truly is a wonder of nature and flying with Cairns Scenic made it perfect, a small plane just for myself and my girlfriend. (and the pilot of course). Both the pilot and his wife where so friendly and helpful. In the sky he gave us a picture of the heart shaped coral reef which we flew over and saw as well. We flew high enough to see all and low enough as possible (due to airline regulation you cannot fly lower than 500ft) to see up close. Couldn’t ask for a better closure of our holiday (especially for this price). Thanks a lot !!

We had an amazing flight over the GBR to Cape Tribulation, then down along the coast, with our wonderful pilot Torben. After sailing to the reef, diving and snorkeling, and listening to the informative presentation by ReefTeach, this was exactly what we needed to put all the puzzle pictures together. Will remember the sight forever!

We booked a one-hour flight from Cairns out to Green Island, over the Reef north to Port Douglas and back down the coast to Cairns. The aircraft was a high-wing Cessna 172 that could take three passengers (we were only two) and has great all round visibility. We flew as low as 500 feet and clearly saw rays and sharks from that altitude. It has to be said that the aircraft is basic but anyone wanting to do some 'authentic' flying will enjoy this.
