So much to see!
Sep 2021
The tablelands have lots of waterfalls, beautiful views, beautiful blue lakes and lush rainforest. Take several days to discover all there is to see. Personally I prefer to go up the Kuranda Range to the north of Cairns and not the Gillies which is to the south.

A relaxing drive
Oct 2021
We drove from Cairns to Atherton, on to Mareeba and then back to Cairns via Kuranda. The drive is relaxing and the rainforest is beautiful. We stopped at Atherton for lunch and at several spots along the way for photos. It's a lovely way to spend a couple of hours seeing what the area has to offer.

Love the country
Jan 2021
The Atherton tablelands are beautiful and the drive around the place is so cool. Tight corners and thin roads but still cool to look at. Heaps to do along the way too

Best IGA ever
Oct 2020 • Couples
Atherton is a great place to visit and an excellent base for the all the surrounding attractions on the Tablelands. However, I want to especially mention the local IGA supermarket: as someone who is gluten intolerant, the incredible range and variety of gf goods available is the best I have seen in any supermarket. Mind-boggling choice. In addition, the fresh fruit and vegetables and local produce were also amazing. A great place to stock up when travelling in this area.

Beautiful region.

Picturesque region suited for leisurely drives and visits to lovely old towns dotted about. Atherton is a thriving town with easy parking and excellent representation of major Retailers as well as interesting little boutiques and local stores.

Lovely!
Jun 2021 • Solo
Spent four days based in Tinaroo exploring the tablelands. Emerald cool rainforest, lovely hiking, some lovely drives, brilliant swimming in freshwater waterfalls, pools, and crater lakes. Really enjoyed my break from the reef.

Gorgeous Highland Region
Jul 2021 • Couples
The Atherton Tablelands is one of those regions which is more than the sum of its parts. You could point out the waterfalls, the rainforest, the cool climate, the historic towns, and the rolling landscapes. However, it is really the combination of all these things which make this a special place. To really do the Tablelands justice, you should allow three days of leisurely exploring.
