Lots too see and do, I would recommend staying somewhere in Yungaburra or Atherton, as you will need 2/3days at least, and you will need a car too get around too see everything.
Driving to Atherton Tablelands was awesome. Fruit stalls along the way and awesome coffee houses. It was about 6 degrees cooler than Cairns, and not as congested.
Great drive - very long, narrow and winding roads all the way to top. Great variety of things to in many different towns. Visit the Crystal Caves and Split a Geode - very exciting - I got a beauty.

Swim in crystal clear crater lakes and waterfalls and explore the rainforests or tantalise your tastebuds with fresh mangoes, lychees, strawberries, blueberries, coffee, chocolate, cheese, peanuts or rainforest fruits straight from the farms.
