Big and small tropical fish, many varieties of beautiful coral. Followed a couple of large turtles around and got very close to a placid blue spotted stingray

If you want to get the best intro to the GBR get a 3-Day Ultimate Pass from QuickSilver. Michaelmas should be day one. The beautiful white beach of the cay is the perfect way to introduce yourself to the aquatic wonderland. Make sure you go out at least 100m to see good coral and fish. After getting your feet wet... This was just breathtaking, don't miss it if you visit Cairns ! Picture perfect and marine reef life was out of this world! You could see it all from snorkelling.. Go with Passions of Paradise, they are an amazing tour group Don't forget sunscreen bc the sun is really harsh in Australia .. Have fun !!!

We came here as a stop on Passions of Paradise reef tour and it was amazing! Definitely my favorite spot of the 3 places on the reef I visited. The colors were so vibrant here and the coral was incredible. I saw 3 massive sea turtles here as well! On top of that, it was great to see all the... More

This is a beautiful cay. It's about a two and a half hour boat cruise out and back. I went on a cruise that had a glass bottom boat, so we got to see the coral and fish both snorkeling and from the boat. A bonus is the bird sanctuary. Lovely day.

Other than having very choppy waters getting out to the reef, so half the boat was quite ill, when we were not in motion actually seeing the reefs through scuba diving was way cool!

This trip was an included part on my tour to Australia. We stayed at a hotel in Cairns and went by boat to Michaelmas Cay. We had a meal on the boat, viewed the reef from a semi-submersible boat, and then had an opportunity to viel by snorkeling

Michaelmas Cay is is a small dot on the Great Barrier Reef chain. The sand cay is only 350 metres long by 50 metres wide and has a small reef that the charter vessels take you to snorkel / dive on. As the reef is only metres off the beach it's great for beginners & children to go snorkeling, as... More
