A beautiful demonstration of Cairns' Cultural centre. My view took in the gorgeous artwork from local and national artists. My only regret is that I have yet to see a theatre production here... but time will correct that.

The Gallery is a little gem in the city, positioned conveniently in Abbott Street in a beautifully restored 1936 building. The gallery is stylish, elegant and thoughtfully constructed - with a lift and automatic opening doors. The art displays are always professionally presented, and the varying exhibitions are constantly changing. I love this Gallery - well done Cairns.

I decided to get a group of friends and their kids together to go while it was free for the month of December. Kids had a great time, especially with the bug exhibit. The exhibits here are top notch (I drag my kids there often), and when it's not free, it's still cheap $5 adults and I think free for... More

Some very beautiful and interesting art peices. It's free entry as well and there's a lift for people unable to use the stairs. It is rather small so won't take long to go round everything.

I wasn't expecting to see good arts in Cairns, but this historical building in the heart of the city has many great arts of local artists. If you are happend to be in the area, just go in, and you'll enjoy the arts and air conditioned rooms.

In a newly renovated building, the Cairns Art Gallery is a small gem in the heart of the main shopping area of Cairns. When I was there they were showing an exhibition called 'Country and Western', which was an exhibition of indigenous and non-indigenous artists' reaction to the Australian landscape. Interesting and engaging, with a slightly new take on a... More

Cairns Regional Gallery is a small but very interesting Gallery. I especially liked the top floor, which featured a very different type of exhibition. The paintings were also very different and we spent a very pleasant time there. The gift shop also offered good items. There is a lift for people who may find the stairs a little difficult. Well...
