Dinosaur exhibit a hit with young and young at heart. The rest of the museum was worth a look too. Reasonable admission price, friendly staff & good food at cafe.

Thoughtfully laid out museum. Nice modern spacious building. Far bigger and with lots more to see than we'd expected. A credit to the designers and organisers that there's such a nice museum here. We looked at a range of things including dinosaur and special far North Queensland exhibits. The exhibits on the HMS Pandora are wonderful. They were all very... More

It was well laid out and had the dinosaur display whilst we were there. It was worth the money, and we found better than the aquarium which was practically next door.

Had a day off work so the two of us headed off to see the dinasour exhibit. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The noise might be a bit loud and frightening for very little children. Wonderful exhibit. Then the display about the Pandora was equally interesting. Wandered round much longer than we thought we would.

Have annual membership so try to visit quite often. Current Dinosaur Display is absolutely fantastic, totally recommend. Due to the noise of the dinosaurs roars I would suggest that might not be suitable for the very young, however slightly older kids will love it as the adults do. Always great to be able to grab a cup of coffee and... More

This museum is wonderful, really worth a visit - dedicated to the story of the HMS Pandora, a ship tasked with capturing the mutineers of the Bounty and taking them back to England for trial. They captured around 15-20 and were on their way back but foundered on the Great Barrier reef trying to find a passage through. A fascinating... More

Visiting Townsville with the family from NSW and the museum was recommended to us as it had a dinosaur exhibit on. WOW! Such a great experience, my boys were blown away. I liked the history of Townsville exhibit, was interesting to learn all about the place we were visiting. Great gift shop, the kids picked a few goodies to take... More

We come down from Charters every few months as the kids always have a great time. The changing exhibits are always worthwhile. Just wish they'd bring back the little play area near the cafe for the little kids.
