A must do when in Townsville

Very educational and a great experience. Our kids loved it and there were so many different species to see and learn about. $70 for a family of 5 which isn't too bad.

I'm from Atlanta ga where we have a very strong aquarium so it was hard to not use the Atlanta Aquarium as a barometer. Also we had a friend with us and she is from Dallas and she pretty much had same opinion relative to the Dallas aquarium. The Townsville aquarium was not very big, seemed old and more geared... Aquariums normally do little for me.This is different.A huge live coral reef, and it's associated creatures. The young staff are helpful and informative, particularly the young man covering the ticket office and shop.So much to see.Cater well for children, stimulating care for nature in a fun way.Dont miss the turtle hospital,if you get the chance. Will bring tears to your eyes.A wonderful experience... We had a nice time here. It wasn't very big but there were lots of different displays, and the actual acquarium had a great variety of fish and coral. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Visited the aquarium asked on holiday on Townsville. It was quite expensive to get in for two adults and one child considering we had a 10% discount voucher. Aquarium is only small and really apart from the viewing tunnel there is not a lot to see. They conduct a couple of small short talks to tell you about the different... More

Perhaps because when you're so close to the Great Barrier Reef you expect something special. Perhaps because when you've seen the aquariums in Atlanta, Shanghai and Istanbul it's a little bit disappointing. I really can imagine when you're at an aquarium as an adult for the first time or you're a child you will be impressed, but obviously I wasn't.... More

While seeing the aquatic life close up is great it is so dated and desperately needs refurbishing . Save your entry fee and go out on a boat and see the real thing.

I went to the aquarium and turtle on a rainy horrible day and I was great day out, the entry fee was reasonable and the staff were very friendly. They have a large collection over aquarium life and a computer with more information about the different animals in the ocean. The turtle hq was eye opening to see about all... More
