Very beautiful, plenty exciting activities, but with the unclear measurement of distance, we got exhausted at the end of the day from the long walk between the light house to the summit lookout then downhill back to the beach. The lookout climbing is not very...More

After a slightly rough sail we arrived at beautiful Fitzroy. I definitely recommend spending 8+ hours at the island. We "hiked" to the light tower and up to top of the island, where we were truly met by a marvellous view! Don't cheat yourself of...More

There are day trips here but you only get about 6.5 hours on the island accounting for the return journey by boats. I would recommend spending 2 days if you have the time and money. To climb on the paths to the peak takes 2.5...More

We thought a boat ride to Fitzroy NP would be a nice way to spend the day. It was actually a nice way to spend about 2 hours. Not much to do other than swim and sunbath. We were pleased to get on the boat...More

Only need a couple of hours, facilities only OK and expensive to get to by the flyer. They were burning trash on the beach and letting the tide take it to sea. Could spend your time better at the lagoon in Cairns

Easy walk to the lighthouse and back over the peak, a bit more strenuous. I suggest you go to the lighthouse first as the track is quite steep from the back of the hotel or camp grounds.

The sea does not get too rough, and if you stay seated as they request you can't fall over. Regulations would dictate that they would not go if the weather was unsuitable. Australia is very safety conscious.

The ferry to the Island goes all year round. April is a good time- no jelly fish. You can hire equipment on the Island. They have glass bottom boat tours. Not a huge lot of coral left but still nice. Saw a few tropical fish... More
