Daydream Island’s amazing Living Reef is a must see on the island. Located at the entrance to the resort, it is one of the world’s largest man-made living coral reef lagoons and features more than 80 species of marine fish and 50 species of coral. This microcosm of the Great Barrier Reef continues to capture the imagination of tourists young and old; with guests having the opportunity to hand feed resident stingrays, sharks and barramundi.

We travelled just outside of school holidays so pretty much had the resort to ourselves BRILLIANT for our family group of 16. We did a group booking through Flight Centre and it all went smoothly. Our rooms were located together and the dining options while limited worked very well for us (mostly buffet) except for one night when there was... More

Great place. Friendly and very helpful staff. Unique experiences such as the salt water lagoons with live corals and sea life. Very clean. We had one person called Lucinda doing our rooms. She was quick, very attentive to detail and very thorough in cleaning the room. She did all this with a smile and mindful not to disturb us.

Thoroughly enjoyed this experience. Very informative talk with the marine biologists when I went in and fed the stingrays. I was fortunate to be the only one in the group so I had them all to myself.

We arrived on this island around 2 o'clock. Thinking we could have some lunch. Well,...it was was dead. There were 2 or three restaurants, but only one was open and the kitchen was already closing. Shops were closed too. I was prepared that it was some sort of an amusement park. When we took the ferry for 85 dollars they... More

This attraction is at the Daydream Resort and is really cool as you get to experience the colours of the ocean without getting wet.

My children aged 8, 9 and 11 did the Reef Rangers and absolutely loved it. It's so lovely to watch the fish swim around and learn a lot about these creatures. The presenter Nick was really good. The stingray splash was great although my middle daughter wasn't that impressed with them sucking on her toes so went to sit down... More

I absolutely loved hand feeding and petting the stingrays at the Living Reef on Daydream Island. The marine biologists were great and very informative. The stingrays are very friendly, and loved rubbing up against everyone. They blow bubbles at your toes and its the weirdest feeling, I had the most amazing time. There are many other fishes and sea life... More

Atrocious! Appalling rooms, apathetic staff, mediocre food and exorbitant prices to boot. I recall below a litany of abuse encountered: A friend had to wait four hours to check into a water logged room. Our keycards stopped working multiple times. We paid 20 bucks for some tomatoless pizza. We got bumped from ocean view rooms to a view of other... More
