Visited on Saturday 22nd September. We were on a cruise back from Whitehaven Beach to Hamilton Island and went past Passage Peak, what a striking feature as you approach Hamilton Island.

We did this hike before breakfast as it is the highest peak on Hamilton Island so we wanted to avoid the heat. Make sure to bring water as it is a bit of an incline, but well worth it for the views! I loved seeing...More

This is an excellent hike. You park at the back of the Reef View and follow the signs. You need water and running shoes and if you are an asthmatic, take that puffer! It is a lot of walking and a fair climb up some...More

Pretty good run up and beautiful view at top. Have to be careful on way down as loose pepply surface - have to have good shoes with good grip

not an easy hike, or maybe I am just getting old... we were red faced and sweaty by the time we reached the top. Views were tremendous.

A lovely walk which is very steep in parts but well worth the effort as the outlook from the top over Hamilton and the surrounding islands is stunning. Take water and enter from the eastern end of Catseye Beach (we mistakenly took the trail from...More

Easy to find, clearly signposted track. Steep finish. Best at dawn when it's not too hot on the track.

The Passage Peak climb is definitely a massive challenge that requires a half decent fitness level to tackle... The climb is steep, lots and lots and lots of stairs but just when you think you have had enough you reach the top and the absolutely...More

Walk to the end of the beach where the track starts and go from there. Depending on where you leave from only adds around 1km if easy walking to the track

If you are really fit and prepared for a steep stepped track at the end then it’s possible. I don’t think this 44 year unfit mummy could but if you want to and are fit it’s no harm setting off and having a go!
