The story of how this underground home came to be is quite fascinating - assuming it is all true. The current tenant/manager was very knowledgeable about the home - and passionate about it too! While I wouldn't want to live underground, it was easy to...More

A very popular tourist attraction and definitely worth seeing. Lots of history in this house. We saw this property as part of our afternoon tour of Coober Pedy. The person on duty at the property was very knowledgeable on the history of the house, it’s...More

Looked everywhere for things to do in town, everything advertised as open but on arrival “closed for the season”. Would be great if visiting details could be updated on websites and Facebook pages. It’s 42 degrees and driving between attractions with kids is hard enough.

We just did the nine and house tour and found it very interesting. Our Hosts were great and explained everything about the house mine and living in cooper pedy. Well worth a visit if staying in cooler pedy.

A great insight into what underground life in Coober Pedy was like during The 60/70's, especially if you found opal and had scruples, like Faye and her friends had. A wonderful tour, well worth the time.

We enjoyed this but it does not really show you how people live underground today. It was a step back in time option. But the history of the house was interesting

An incredible history this house has. Apart from the fact it was carved out of rock, by three women, the labour, the love and the achievement. There is even a swimming pool within the house. It was lovely to have a tour for just the...More
