This short walk from Salamanca is full of lovely colonial homes and cute shops. There are some nice restaurants for dinner and the view of both the mountain and the river are lovely from here.

This is very much a residential area but there are many accommodation options, a few eateries and it's just a few minutes' walk to Salamanca with heaps of shops, restaurants and of course the market. It's on a hill overlooking the bay and Mt Wellington...More

Take the long way round - don't go up the steps from Salamanca Market. You'll enjoy the views, the semaphore hut, and the dysfunctional military installations that give Battery Point its name. The houses are all suitable for photos and framing, and there are lots...More

A lovely part of Hobart for a walk on a sunny day in early winter. Lots of lovely old homes, great views of the harbour and Mt Wellington in the distance. The Shipwright arms hotel is a classic old pub that is worth a look....More

Enjoyed the walk to see the old buildings and how they have been preserved. In combination with Salamanca market, made for a good day.

Battery Point is a real gem only spoilt by the apartments on the lead up to Arthur Circus and that dreadful pub on Hampden Road.

Nick walk lots to see amazing old homes and a lot of places to eat. Many gallery's to see. Worth the walk. Very busy with traffic. A few parks with views over the water. Give it a go.

Fabulous spot to walk. Historic homes and why not pop into the local bakery whilst you are there. Great coffee and cake at Jackson MCCrossen.

Yep the Red Decker which leaves from the tourist information office. 35$ for a day or $40 for 2 days per person. I posted a review with photos if you want to take a look. Hope you find them helpful. 1 Linrob
