Connecting the Eastern shore to the city, the bridge stands out as an Icon of Tassie. Traffic slows in rush hour, otherwise a fairly quick trip. You can walk over it if you wish, wear warm clothes!

You drive over it, it is a bridge. Scenery is OK, but that's all it is. A bridge. Curb your enthusiasm.

Traffic at peak hours on this bridge still flow smoothly enough which is great. The bridge cuts down travel time for many motorists and make access in and out of Hobart easier.

Viewed it from the Mona Ferry and Botanic Gardens - very long. Worth getting the history behind it or it just a long, graceful bridge.

This was a wonderful introduction to our first visit to Tasmania and to Hobart. It leads you straight into the city from the airport. The bridge is beautiful and the views from it are stunning.

The bridge collapsed in 1975 when a ship rammed a pillion. It is hard to believe that 12 people died as a result of this tragedy. The walk over the bridge really tests your fitness as it arches over the River Derwent. The vista from...More

The bridge is a 3 minute drive across the Derwent River and connects east and west Hobart. Along the shore at either end we spotted Tasmania's famous black swans gliding next to silky grasses, a charming view to enjoy.; The view over the water of...More

The path is two way and shared by walkers and bike riders.
