A lovely area.

We stayed in Sandy Bay over night and it was lovely, great water views and shops to visit. A very pretty area and close to the Salamanca Market.

Visited after spending the morning at Salamanca Markets. A lot of shops were closed or closing by 3pm.

Sandy Bay is close to downtown Hobart while offering a quiet small town experience. We stayed in an apartment overlooking the bay with a great view of sail boats and small cargo ships heading out to sea. We witnessed every type of weather from perfect calm, good sailing weather to hurricane force winds. There are good restaurants within walking distance... More

If I were to retire to another location, this would probably be it. It's Sydney Harbour, but without the inaccessibility,, rat race and expense. Stunning views from the hillside houses, and a quick drive to the city. The Wrest Point Casino is smack in the centre of it all for coffees and dining. Plenty of nearby shops and the yacht... More

We only spent a very short time at Sandy Bay, however the surrounding roads give you absolutely beautiful views all the way around Sandy Bay. Beautiful wharfs and boats to wander around, must see.

A quick stop here earlier this week while doing the rounds on the Red Decker "Hop On Hop Off" Service. A tranquil Bay with a string of quirky shops and cafes. Limited time so back on the Red Decker. Yesterday I did a Hobart Historic cruise which goes right past Sandy Bay and nearby Wrest Point Hotel and Casino.

As a Hobart resident i get to travel in and through Sandy Bay. It is a pleasant "burb" with an array of shopping. Not the best for parking i find. Very well located and worth a visit. It is on the way to the casino and its revolving restaurant.

Stopped off here when on the "red bus". Great shops and quirky little cafes. Make time to visit this area.

This is the best suburb of Hobart - The Toorak or Elizabeth Bay. Very nice walk or drive from Hobart. Lots of top places to eat or drink or have a coffee.
