Located at the MCG, the National Sports Museum presents world-class exhibitions of significant sporting artefacts. The museum houses the Australian Gallery of Sport and Olympic Museum, Sport Australia Hall of Fame, Australian Cricket Hall of Fame, Australian Football Hall of Fame, Champions - Thoroughbred Racing Gallery and temporary exhibition areas addressing the sporting issues and events of the day. Interactive and audiovisual displays enhance the visitor experience. The National Sports Museum also manages the MCG Tours. This is a vibrant, exciting and attractive mix of sporting information, cultural heritage, and interactive entertainment. The National Sports Museum serves the MCG's match-day patronage, as well as catering for families, schools, seniors and tourist groups, seven days weekly.

A well managed museum with lots of interactive exhibits. I like the holographic display of Shane Warne, and the area where you can play different sports. I'm mainly into Cricket and Tennis, but the AFL sections and Olympics sections were also pretty interesting. It's amazing...More

Combined with the MCG tour, we spent a few hours wandering around the museum experiencing the Victorian obsession with sport. Wonderful exhibits for many sports and worth seeing even if you aren’t interested in that particular sport. A wide range of artefacts are on show,...More

Came here with my the whole family and we loved it. Started with the MCG tour, which was also excellent. If you pick up the Melb guidebook in the MCG lobby first there’s a discount voucher in the back to save 20%

There was so much to see in the National Sports Museum and something for every taste/Australian sport. I would recommend visiting after the MCG stadium tour. The interactive games were very fun too.

This museum is the best for sports fans. It is interactive in addition to the usual displays of historical artifacts. Don't miss the hologram display of Shane Warne.
