Quirky and playful characters are found behind the counters, delivering old fashioned customer service with a smile. We embrace and showcase the local, supporting local farmers, artisans and producers. It’s a foodie’s paradise where freshness, quality and diversity are paramount with food stuffs from land to sea. We celebrate a philosophy of Real Food. Local Life. encouraging you to cook food that is made from great quality, fresh produce sourced from our family of traders you know, love and trust. We are a home to seriously good coffee, specialty tea and a vibrant restaurant precinct for day and night time fun. There’s also an amazing array of merchandise and services with everything from clothing, homewares and second hand books to hairdressing and pet food. Markets all tend to blur into each other nowadays but this one stands out as it had a great mix of stores and some really fabulous local produce. If I lived in Melbourne, I'd be here all the time!

'nuff said. The oysters and the sea urchins are enough reason to visit. However, the coffee and the french pastries are also really good.

smaller, less crowded, less varieties compared to QVM. worth a visit if you are nearby that area. and by the way, there is a Woolworths supermarket a minute walk away if you need to get more stuffs

Visited this market on a Sunday morning and it was really crowded. The types of goods sold are rather different from that of Queen Victoria Market as this market focuses less on the souvenirs for tourists and more on products for local people. One thing...More

We have been wanting to visit this Market for awhile. We weren't disappointed. There was such a variety. It would have to be one of the cleanest markets I have visited. All the food stalls were amazing. We wanted to take some of everything home...More

Years ago South Melbourne Market was a terrific market where you were guaranteed to pick up cheap fruit & vegies. Not so anymore. It's disappointing to see prices almost double what you're paying across the road at two of the bigger supermarkets. It was across...More

Excellent undercover market with the very best purchases in fish, meat, vegetables and all manner of prepared delicacies. You can also eat wonderful oysters there, try delicious European and Asian dishes, then finish with brilliant pastries/deserts. A truly great spot.

If you have to pick one market make it this one. The clothing section is much better with some designers working out of the markets. Than there is the food hall. Yum yum yum. DEFINENTELY don't eat before you go.
