What a brilliant beach! Close to the CBD and great with younger kids. The water is shallow to kids can play in the water. Half Moon Bay is also home to HMVS Cerberus, the last surviving monitor warship, older kids can swim out there.

great place to spend a few hours enjoying the surf. The waves are moderate in size, there is a walk down stairs to reach the beach at the bottom of the cliffs. Great fun for surfing, boarding and playing in the waves

I just loved this beach. Although there were no waves, it was really nice and relaxing. I will definitely go back next time I am in Melbourne.

This little bay is just off Beach Road at Black Rock on the south side of Port Phillip Bay. The cliffs of Red Bluff are in one corner of the bay and Black Rock Yacht Club at the other end. The beach is protected by the Ceberus wreck further out in the bay and great for children as the water... More

The sand is always warm, water is lukewarm and you can always spot little fishies swimming around! Theres a small cute pier you can walk to and jump off from, many people bring their boats amd... For a Melbourne City beach Black Rock and Half Moon Bay are about as good as it gets without taking too long to get to. Catching the Sandringham Line from the city will get visitors here cheaply, although the drive along Beach Road on a sunny day would be pleasant for tourists if driving were an option. Swimming out to... More

Overlooking the wreck of HMAS Cerberus, pier, water, beach and combined with a magnificent sunset turned our delicious meal into a very special night. A wide choice of menu and wines. Wise to book as it was very busy, service a little slow but attentive. The restaurant is upstairs, casual sidewalk eating overlooking the bay also.
