The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is Australia's largest, oldest and most popular sporting venue. The MCG has hosted plenty of international cricket, including the first-ever Test and the 1992 World Cup final, countless VFL/AFL Grand Finals, the 1956 Olympic Games and 2006 Commonwealth Games. It also hosted the final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. Other sporting spectacles include FIFA World Cup soccer qualifiers, rugby league home and away matches and State of Origin and international rugby union clashes. Apart from its sporting events, the MCG has also witnessed many blockbuster music concerts, and even Pope John Paul II held a mass there when he visited Melbourne in 1986. The MCG has a total capacity of 100,024 people, comprising 95,024 seats and 5000 standing room spaces. The stadium also houses the National Sports Museum, which includes some of the most priceless pieces of memorabilia in Australian sporting history.

Really good day out to go and watch a game of cricket and go on the tour. The tour guides obviously have a real passion for their work and it shows. Only wish I could have gone to a big bash game when I was there!!!!

We were recently at a function in the Sports Museum .What a wonderful place to see all the different sports. So much to see. So very good. We had finger food in the meeting place. There was lots of food and it just kept coming. Very tasty. Disappointing was that there was no desserts at the end and no coffee... More

We went in morning and it was a good pleasant day. There were many school trips which had come to see the ground. The place is kept clean and well maintained. There are statues of great players on the outside in the compound.

Went for a guided tour around the MCG. So worth a look. Tour guide was very knowledgable and friendly. To see behind the scenes of places you would never get to see was amazing. Make sure you go through the museum while you are there. More then worth the $63 for a couple

The MCG Tour and National Sports Museum were an amazing experience! Didn't realise the grandeur of this iconic and historic Sports Stadium until I was taken around by our wonderful volunteer guide. The National Sports Museum is lots of fun also!

Fantastic views of the action from elevated seats. FOOD AND DRINK AT THE STADIUM ARE BOTH EXPENSIVE. Eat and drink before you go there. Trains, get off at Jolimont Station and trams get off when everyone else does go there. Car parking in the area is a nightmare for visitors and the people who live there. Go by public transport.... Being an avid sports fan having watched many a cricket match and footy game this tour was ideal for me. If you have no interest in either sport I doubt this will be a good investment of time and money.

We wanted to check out a cricket match while visiting Melbourne, and there just so happened to be a match at the MCG while we were there. South Africa vs. Victoria. My wife and I were excited, both to see the MCG and to watch some live cricket. Tickets were only $10AU. We showed up early, thinking we'd have to... More

We went for the tour with guide Ian who was very nice and new his stuff. Worth doing as it gives you a whole new outlook of the ground and good to find out all the information on the place.

A very interesting and informative tour of both the MCG and the Museum. Tour included a visit to the members areas as well as the ground itself. The guide was extremely knowledgeable about the grounds and the member areas as well the sporting history of the facility.
