The landmark Regent Theatre holds a key part in our city’s history since opening as a grand picture palace in 1929. Having survived a fire, a flood, 20 years in darkness and many threats of demolition, the venue reopened in August 1996, meticulously refurbished and returned to its breathtaking former glory.Today it stands more lavish and grand than ever and continues to host some of the world’s most renowned theatre productions.

Amazing day out. The Body guard was playing at the Regent Theatre, beautiful theatre, just love visiting it. The Musical was superb, incredible singing and amazing performances by all. Went to the Matinee session which gave us plenty of time for Brunch.

This Theatre is easy to get to in Collins Street, close to eateries and the Westin Hotel. Renovated a number of years ago and simply a perfect place to go and see a play or a musical. If you are from out of town suggest...More

Regent Theater is what you would expect from Melbourne style. Beautiful & eligant. Big enough to set an impressive tone but still with a unique personal feel. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The seats provide greater space around you than we found at Her Majesty's, and the aisles were wider, so in general you don't feel hemmed in. The Bodyguard was a good show, Paulini did an amazing job on the vocals.

We went to a midweek matinee of The Bodyguard musical. Pauline was especially fantastic and loved the encore with people up dancing and singing. Venue is sensational to see as well and seats were super comfy. Easy walk from Southern Cross station.

Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways
tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary
feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the
city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques,
throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You
never quite know what you’ll find around the next
corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and
even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air

I went to an 8pm showing on a Saturday night. There should also be a matinee showing during the day. I purchased tickets online via ticketmaster.
