A pleasant Autumn day took us to Sherbrooke Forest and a great walk. We decided to start the walk from the carpark picnic area towards the waterfall, which was very disappointing as it was very very small due to not having enough water running through creek. We met a couple of girls who have walked up to the waterfall, in... More

Stopover at Sherbrooke before going to Belgrave Puffy Billy Railway. There's rosella parrots for feeding at a nominal fee. There's ample parking lot and picnic tables around. souvenir shop. Went to nearby Hardy Gully Nature Walk. Nothing much except huge trees and flat path. was cooling 22c and terrain was easy.

We went with a group of around 15 adults and kids, and really enjoyed the walk, despite some rain. Lots of picturesque photo ops along the way. Beautiful birds to be seen near the entrance to the walking path. Ample picnic tables to sit and enjoy before you head out on your walk. Easy enough walk for older adults and... More

Started hiking with my 13 month old Son and Wife just after lunch despite knowing the chance of rain forecasted at 90% possible. It started to drizzle halfway through and then it poured! Nonetheless birds can still be heard and seen!!!! Thank goodness we're not the only ones under the rain! Managed to see 2 kookaburra, a family of cockatoos... More

Brought my 13 yo son for a hike in the forest. It was a lovely walk with abundant birds and others; what forest should be. We started at about noon and walked about 3 hours. It was drizzling at first but began to pour halfway through but the birds kept chirping still and the sound of the cascades.

Fungi, Lyrebirds, Mountain Ash, Fern Trees - complete forest experience. It was drizzling at the time, so had to step carefully, but otherwise not an exhausting stroll. It does not seem to matter which entrance you use or which trail you choose, hard to be disappointed with what nature has to offer. Parking near any of the entrances is available.

After being "attacked" by cockatoos in the bird feeding area, we explored the nearby Hardy Gully Nature Walk. This is a 700m easy walk on flat ground, where the Parks Victoria website says will take 45min to make a loop. We finished the walk in a significantly shorter amount of time. We didn't linger in the forest as there was... More

This is one of many good parks to visit in the Dandenong Ranges and provides a pleasant place for visitors to walk and get a good feel for Australian bush. Weekends can be busy.

Found this walk underwhelming. The track was very muddy but this was to be expected. What wasn't was fallen trees to climb over and gaping holes that had been taped off. Felt like the area isn't really being taken care of. Then when we got to the waterfall it was very small and the area was overgrown. Only consolation was... More
