Completed in 1870, this delightful Victorian Gothic landmark was completely restored in 2005. It is the only convict-built capital city town hall in Australia, and a fragment of the original convict roll is on permanent display in the foyer with other City of Perth memorabilia. Generally open 11:00AM-1:00PM weekdays, but phone 08 9229 2965 first because it is sometimes closed for private functions. Free historic tour every Thursday at 2:00PM.

This is a very nice brick built building that stands on the site of the place where the first tree wasn cut down to mark the founding of Perth. It is dwarfed by modern glass buildings but still retains its dignity. It has a nice clock tower and looks great when it is lit up at night.

The days are long gone when the town hall represented the grandeur and splendour of our pioneering spirit however some buildings remain that represent that era beautifully. The four faced clock still tells the time so passers-by can get a bearing of where and when they need to be. I still look up every time I walk by.

The Perth Town Hall is a beautiful building with some wonderful architecture. The unfortunate fact is that the tours are few and far between so just enjoy the building.

Wonderfully located and its artistic labyrinth fountain is entertaining and a great feature to watch while eating or having a drink. P.S. Attraction for children who spend hours playing in it.

The building is only open on Thursday's at 2 PM for tours. We happened by on a Friday. Instead we roamed around the outside of it and then sat across the street in a pleasant park to admire the architecture of this building that spans an entire block.

Went in to have a look at the Town Hall and relive memories of our childhood years in the 50's. Unfortunately tours are only held on Thursdays but we were allowed to walk upstairs and look at the main hall through the doorway. There are a number of displays that show the history of the Town Hall in the early... More

The building is astounding for great photos, although never crossed my mind to enter the building. This building is notable good example of Victorian Gothic architecture, result of convict labour during the Gold Mining boom years.

Although we had no reason to go inside this building , it has so much character from the outside we took some great photos, also as we waled around the city on a very breif visit, we found a good mix of old and new buildings,
