Take the ferry , $12 return for the day, and have a pleasant stroll around Devonport. Some interesting buildings and a hill to climb as well as a museum. Of course there is a pub there too when you are thirsty.

By ferry it is just a few minutes from CBD Auckland. Peaceful and quiet then for a visit with beautiful landscapes and good restos for lunch or tea time.

We caught the ferry from Auckland and enjoyed a few hours exploring this quaint little place. There are plenty of places to eat/drink and shop and a lovely beach front that gives views back over Auckland.

Fantastic time over to Devonport via Ferry. Taking bikes over was simple. Great to bike up to the North Head Tunnels & back down for lunch at Torpedo Bay Cafe. Easy bike parking.
