I can recommend a Fullers Trip we did an around the waterfront and enjoyed it very much .Auckland waterfront is the hub of the city and cross ferries run all day.

decided to take a trip across to Devonport to do some exploring. The staff were friendly and efficient, the ride smooth and on time. ferry was clean and tidy.

I took the ferry to Rangitoto Island and from what I saw while waiting at the pier and watching other Fullers ferrys, they are always on time and everything is perfectly organized.

we travelled in February and the weather was fine, not hot. I would suggest checking online for average temps in October
