We walked through this park from the Auckland Museum to the Auckland Art Gallery. Not a bad way to go because it's all downhill through the park. The Auckland Museum stands grandly on top of a dome of a volcano with beauty views of the harbor blues. We got tempted to stop in the Winter Gardens. The smell of flowers... More

A gem in the city! Beautiful trees, walking paths and sculptures. Great places for picnics or go to the 'kiosk' for a tasty lunch. Don't miss the fernery, the hot and cool houses and lovers lane.

This great space is a real tonic in a big bustling city yet it has two excellent facilities in the Auckland Museum and the Wintergardens where many happy and fruitful hours can be spent.

It requires a little uphill trek if walking to the Domain but this is through attractive parkland. Once at the top there are plenty of trails to follow either in the shade or the open.

The Domain is such a great space for Aucklanders to get away from it all, and still be in the heart of the city. We visited on Boxing Day, so that the kids could test out their water guns without re-moistening the washing on the clothesline at home! Finding a carpark can sometimes be a trick on busy days, but... More

Ok, so Auckland isn't that big on the world scale but The Domain is provides surprising peace and quiet in many different spaces. It's beautifully maintained and offers a wide variety of places to explore by walking or cycling.

The Domain is a great place to visit-lots of green space, birds to feed, trees to climb, and views across waitemata harbour. Also worth having a refreshment in the cafe. Museum worth dropping into also.

Nice big park to visit especially if visiting the Auckland museum on the hill; some paths are pretty steep so be ready if walking there. Saw some runners, so great place to run.

It´s a beautiful garden and it actually surpasses the ones I've seen in neighboring Australia. The place offers nice trails for walks and scenic spots for picture taking.
