We walked from our hotel in Britomart and, being in our 70s, found the walk up Parnell Rise an effort - but the walk back was easy. Elderly should consider bus or taxi. Lovely timber buildings abound. Worth a visit

We visited Parnell village for brunch and to take a look at the lovely galleries along the street. It did not disappoint at all. We found a great cafe.. Profile cafe which was excellent at the top of the hill and worked our way down the road and back up. Well worth a visit while in Auckland

We visited this as part of our City Highlights tour and I had hoped to come back and do some shopping but we ran out of time. It's a more boutique type of shopping rather than the big common brands

It is a lovely, quaint place. There are stores that sell knickknacks, cafe shops and even delicious pastries and cakes.

You can tour the place in less than an hour. Although pricey, you can see great shops which feature unique finds.

A very high concentration of good quality resturants particularly towards the top of the hill where there is a "Village" area. The street also has some high quality shops including auction houses and quality antiques. The architecture is more traditional New Zealend small toen rather than a modern city and there are several important old houses with historic connections and... More

Loved strolling along here - plenty of trendy boutiques and cafes, and one of the best shops for finding unique New Zealand gifts (Elephant House) is tucked off the main drag and well worth a visit to source delightful and different works from a huge variety of craftspeople and artists.

This is a great strip to take in the period architecture while widow shopping and taking in a lunch or dinner. Close to the domain which is marvellous.

We stayed at a B&B a couple of blocks from Parnell Road. We enjoyed walking along the street and saw many good restaurants, one of which we enjoyed, but we did not think that the shops were particularly interesting.

We stopped here for a few hours when on a hop on hop off bus tour. Very pleasant area with shops & restaurants. We overindulged at the yummy chocolate shop!
