Christmas in NZ with daughter and family. "You gotta see the lights in Franklin Road." Such throngs of people, and musicians, and excitement. Various types of Christmas lights, and trees full of flickering lasers. Glad we came.

Ponsonby is a great place to shop, whether that be groceries or gourmet goodies. There's clothes shops of all kinds and it seems to breed wine bars, cafes and restaurants in equal measure. Leave the car and walk the streets off the main roads -...More
Lots of restaurants, galleries and smaller shops in this quite upmarket area of Auckland. Buses do run down the Main Street but there is limited parking in the side streets etc.
It's a great part of Auckland, a lot of variety of food and shops. Most of the food options are very good, some high end and eclectic shopping. Beautiful park. Fun people - a definite must see part of Auckland.
Enjoyed shopping this Quaint, tree lined street up the hill with my hubby and 26 year old daughter. Great place to meander for a few hours or a day. Cool shops, boutiques, (LuLu is there), great restaurants, and art.

We stayed at an Airbnb on Rawene road. Great neighborhood. Easy to access from the highway and amazing views from the harbor.
