A beautiful place with many islands and beaches, seen at its best from the deck of a yacht :) take time to explore the coast and islands right across to the Coromandel Peninsula

Grab one of the ferries and enjoy the harbour/gulf. Lots of places to visit especially trendy Waiheke Island.

Many ferries will go across this gulf from auckland ferry terminal. Go early in the morning or evening to catch sunset or sunrise.

Whether you have a boat or if you are just traveling by one of the many ferries, you will not be disappointed with the Gulf. There's plenty of islands and bays you can swim in plus the fishing is fantastic.

Essential Auckland with its islands dotted around, and some easy to access with fast ferries, or watch the sailing boats

So many beautiful spots here. There are loads of sandy beaches and views of the islands. Water is clear and blue and warm for much of the year. There are beachfront walks and beaches are not packed - even in summer. Beaches are safe and...More

Was fortunate recently to fly over the Hauraki Gulf twice via helicopter as I don't do water. Want a wonderful experience and such a great view from the air. To look and see Auckland as you come back from Waiheke Island and to fly past...More
