I was surprised at how much we enjoyed it here. It's a place you really need to take your time and appreciate what is there. So many people sped past 'Nemo's' fish tank and missed the most gorgeous bright yellow and pink fish that would hide away. Wonderful to see 'Nemo' in amoungst the reef plants. I was surprised to... Spent the night at the aquarium with 20 Cubs. What a cool place for a visit. Big thanks to Sonya and Matt as hosts. Burgers for tea and breakfast was included.

We visited the Aquarium as part of the walk along Marina Parade. It is a pleasant aquarium but unfortunately both the cafe and giftshop were closed for renovations during our visit. There are some good displays and they have some penguins as well. It is the only place I have actually seen a Kiwi so far. Worth the call in... More

My wife and I walked along the waterfront to the aquarium, the walk was a bit rough and hard to push a pram due to construction going on but it will be a beautiful walk upon completion. The aquarium itself is a small complex but houses a lot of different species from the average fish life to coral to sharks... More

I spent about an hour looking round. It was amazing to see a kiwi up close and the different fish but I feel that some of the tanks just weren't big enough. The giant sea turtle looked so depressed it was sad to see. They have plenty to keep children occupied .

Excellent value for money entry fee - great displays of reptiles and fish.Awesome to finally see a Tuatara in the flesh. Good variety of fish. An awesome place to take the kids and spend an hour or two.

Thank you. Tuatara are unique to New Zealand and only found on our offshore islands. This 'living fossil' is the one remaining member of the Order Sphenodontia which was represented by many species during the age of the dinosaurs, some 200 million years ago. Few people ever get to see them up close. Glad we could help! More
