An awful lot going on, and does get quite crowded. But people watchers will enjoy it. Certainly has lots to see

This is a very busy and pretty harbor. We travelled from Russell to Paihia on a ferry and this was very pleasant and the ferry driver was informative about the area

Beautiful harbour area and surroundings , with bars , cafes and restaurants either within itself or just across the road . Sight seeing helicopter rides available right next to the harbour , amazing piloting skills to watch and envy as it lands sideways onto the helipad . Fishing , para gliding and ferry across to Russell from the jetty .

great views alongside Waitangi bridge and roundabout. Marae and carvings on land creates a special ambiance to the harbor. Great walk to Marae and golf course.

We met family over here and arrived on the ferry from Russell. Compared to Russell it's busy with a number of shops, cafes and restaurants. It had all the amenities one requires. The surrounding beach is not that picturesque. Better places to take a dip. One large playground for children to play right in the beach sides Lovely views of... More

This is the hub of the town, fantastic to book tours, get information, stop for refreshments etc. locals really go the extra mile to help. Make sure you take the ferry over to Russell.

We were sitting on the deck surrounding the harbor. nice and breezy. The (sea) food was average (cantine standard), but also just averagely priced. Service was limited but non intrusive. Staff was friendly. All together a pleasant experience ( and in a way a very good one, keeping in mind the scarcity of restaurants in Paihia). I would go again... More

The harbour area is great to sit and people watch and it's hard to go to paihia and not admire the views from the pier. The whole area is well maintained and a great tourist attraction in a laid back way.....no shoes no news.
