Located just below the hospital this park is free and you can spot the gases rising from the many hot pools. There are paths around the enclosed areas and you can see various different pools - large ones/small ones/mud ones and there's even a free foot pool where you can give those aching feet a treatment! Plenty of car parking... More

It was great to have a walk around the park and see the natural thermal activity. Unique as you don't get to see this often but a little disappointing that some of it was roped/boarded off. Guess we just went on the wrong day.

A stroll through Kuirau park is a must when visiting Rotorua. Thermal activity at your feet (literally), the smell, the sounds and the smell.... all free!

I'll give a very honest and unbiased review here with all things considered. Please see my many TripAdvisor reviews for good reads on my travel experiences! https://www.tripadvisor.com/members/Erin_leigh79 We walked from our hotel (see my review: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g255111-d3533505-Reviews-Quest_Rotorua_Central-Rotorua_Rotorua_District_Bay_of_Plenty_Region_North_Island.html) and it was only about 10 minutes. There are a lot of little paddocks that contain the sulfur features. Some are active and bubbling,... More

We stumbled upon this park while we're on our way to Hobbiton and we're glad that we made the trip there afterward. There are a few ponds with steaming hot water and in some of them you can even see boiling mud. All the ponds are fenced up for the visitors safety and there are walkway to guide you to... More

Just walk around looking at stinky bubbling mud and steam at no charge, lacking information and a bit messy but worth a look

We decided to walk down to town from our accommodation and stumbled upon these natural wonders. Great to see some free wonders that haven't been over commercialised and are well maintained.

Nice, convenient location to see at least a dozen thermal sites....walking distance to downtown. Such a treat and so close by!

This is something you can do for free but as you should expect there is no information about the different pools you see. It's okay for a walk and you can sit and dangle your feet in one or two baths.

Wandered through this park as it was close to our hotel. What a great way to spend an afternoon, strolling through the park looking at the various steaming pools and bubbling mud. There are also some hot pools where you can dip your feet after a long day. A great little find.
