Polynesian Spa is New Zealand’s leading international day spa. In a picturesque, tranquil setting overlooking Lake Rotorua, visitors can enjoy a wonderful fusion of relaxing hot spring pool bathing, sumptuous spa and massage therapies and picturesque lake views. Polynesian Spa has the use of two types of hot mineral water, one alkaline and one acidic, that are the unique point of difference of the operation. Many thousands of visitors to the spa have attested to the remedial effect the hot mineral waters have on such ailments as muscular complaints, arthritis and rheumatism. The Priest and Radium springs are most noted in this respect. We invite you to experience this World Top Ten Spa (natural/thermal/medical), as voted by readers of the prestigious Conde Nast Traveller magazine for several years and once again in 2011. We look forward to welcoming you to Polynesian Spa.

This is a world-class spa, but it is possible for people on a budget to enjoy it too. My daughter and I purchased the adult pool package for $29 NZD (about $21 USD), and with that we had access to seven or eight thermal pools at varying temperatures. We could stay as long as we wished, and it was not... More

A friend and I thought we'd come here for a relaxing afternoon without the kids. We arrived around mid-afternoon on a Saturday, there was no queue which was great. Staff were nice and friendly. We walked into the main area of the pools and all we could hear was the constant, screeching and squawking of hundreds of seagulls (I can't... More

Very crowded in the hot baths. Buildings looks quite old and would need to be modernized. We had a massage, not the best we have had but okay.

We spent an hour there, and thought it expensive and quite disappointing. The spa pools seemed overcrowded, and was not the relaxing experience we expected.

Nothing too special about this spa besides the water being natural. You don't need to book before hand and we did the private spa which is for half an hour which is nice but it isn't as good as we have seen elsewhere. The spas itself are quite relaxing and it isn't too busy usually as it's open for a... More

Myself and wife arrived at around 8:15pm at night. After a short queue, we payed for a "Romatic Double Dipper" entry that allowed access to the Adult Pools and 30 minutes Private Spa for $88 per couple. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were given free bottles of water, and a free juice voucher. The changing rooms were... More

Very bad experience in this spa. I paid 30 bucks to be in a very noisy, really really dirty and fakes temperatures. There are different temperature pools, but the pool 39C is hotter than the 41C one. What's the point? Also I know it's not easy to keep public pools cleaned but be honest it's very very dirty. I'll never... More
