I popped in here on my drive from Rotorua to Taupo and it was a great side stop. Easy pathways, beautiful volcanic craters and not overly crowded if you visit outside of the timed geyser eruption. Worth a visit...

There are many thermal parks in and around Rotorua all run as commercial concerns. This is an easy 25 minute drive out of town so you get to see some of the surrounding sites as well. At 32.50 NZ$ its reasonable value. The paths are groomed, no steep slopes and easy going for most folks with prams or wheel chairs.... More

I never tire of showing visitors this wonderful example of nature at its best. Can be a bit smelly but thats all part of the phenomenon.

if you visit Rotorua or Taupo, don't miss wai o tapu, the boiling lake is impressive, it takes about two hours to visit the park.

Awesome experience. We were sent to the Geyser first, bad idea, arrived just as it finished and met about 100 cars and people rushing to get out! Only one way in and out of this area! We were able to wander around the springs at our own pace and take photos as we went. Extensive diverse areas of thermal activity... More

This is a great place to visit. It wasn't too crowded despite it being school holidays. There are lots of different pools to see and the information provided meant the kids learnt stuff too!

It is a great place to visit and see natures beauty if you are fascinated by nature . The only problem is that it smells of sulphur . If you really want to see the natures beauty this place is worth a visit .

Our plan was to see their geyser at 10:15am. We arrived just before ten. You have to go to the office first to buy tickets and then drive back down the road and park near the geyser area, then walk in to an ampitheatre and wait for the show. The place was packed. At 10:15 we were looking for signs... More

Quite impressed by this thermal park. The neon green pool of water was especially impressive. We visited on a beautiful day and everything looked amazing. Admission was reasonably priced and the food at the cafeteria was good.

We went to the park around 9:00 and left by 11AM. It had some interesting pools and is very walkable and easy to navigate. If you've been to Yellowstone it's nothing special, but if you've never seen geothermal pools before it is worth seeing. The Lady Knox geyser goes very promptly around 10:30 - as it is set off with... More
