The Mitai Maori Village is an experience where you will see and learn about Maori culture. You will experience a very traditional hangi meal. There is the Warriors in a canoe a welcoming ceremony. While it is a "staged" activity it is informative and entertaining. If you went to a music concert, a stage show, opera, or even the ballet,... More

The Mitai Maori village put on an amazing show from the start. The MC of the night kept everyone interested and laughing with his humour. The night includes amazing cultural entertainment including dancing, singing and traditional Maori warrior traditions. After the entertainment, we were served a generous buffet of amazing food. The food was so delicious and definitely one of... More

What a wonderful evening was had. We were collected from our hotel and taken first to a local village and given a really informative tour by 'Shilo' who told us so much about how his family settled in the area oh so long ago. It was brilliant being shown around the village, looking at the hot pools and lands. One... More

My friend and I attended this on the 16 april 2017, this was the best money well spent if you as me, I have done the Tamaki experience but have to say this one is way better by far, I understand that both are a bussiness, however this one made you feel part of them. You were not rushed and... More

The Mitai Maori Village cultural immersion was both educational and entertaining - from the war canoe, to the ceremonial dances, to the explanations of the history of these people. This is very worthwhile. There is a buffet dinner afterwards that was underwhelming. If possible, definitely see the show, skip the dinner.

An incredible experience! It was truly fascinating, and very well organised. We had missed out on the glow worms in Waitomo because of the weather, so were so happy to go on the nightwalk and see the glow worms in Rotorua.

The evening started in a large banquet room with about 30 tables of 10 - most of which were filled with bussed-in visitors. The few of us who drove ourselves were together at tables at the end. We were taken out to see the meal being cooked - large pans of meats and root vegetables in an in-ground pit. We... More

I loved the performance, the guide, the food and the night walk. I loved the attention I got at the end of the night when it came to transport home ( there was a mix up with our booking, not Mitai fault, the person who booked it gave the wrong date ) everyone knew who I was and they couldnt... We carefully selected the Mitai Maori Village over other cultural experiences that were available, and were glad we did. They handled picking us up at and returning us to our hotel, and the evening ran smoothly. The performances were fascinating, and the food tasty and plentiful. The evening concluded sith a walk through the forest by night, and included walking... More
