This little place was recommended to us by one of the workers at the Craters of the Moon, mainly for their ice cream. This was a great shout, we enjoyed honey-themed alcohol tasting and beauty products, followed by delicious ice cream. It was interesting learning about the bees and they had impressive 'live' displays so you could see the bees... More

We made a stopover during our road trip only to return the next day for their honey ice-cream. Basically, a great stop for honey tastings of all sorts and have a chat with the staff whom were friendly enough to share their knowledge on all things honey. In the end, I succumbed to buying a lavender flavored honey! Besides, they... More

We stopped off here while doing the walks and activities at Wairakei Tourist Park. We enjoyed tasting some of the honey (which we bought 2 jars of) and looking at their vast honey products. We were also able to read some info and watch a video about bees and how they produce honey which was awesome!

There is a lovely little place just north of Taupo that you just have to visit if you have a family with you. It dosen't matter what the weather is doing as it is mostly indoors. The place is very tastefully decorated and set out and the displays are always full and complete. It revolves around the humble bumble bee... More

They have everything honey-based items. The staff is super friendly and there are great tasters at honey and ect. You can try different lotions and oils. A good shop to spend some time.

We stopped here to see what they have. The bee hive behind glass is cool to see, but not really spectacular, especially since I've seen a bigger one en route to Wellsford. What I was amazed by though was their "mead" collection. They use honey to make "mead". The result is more of a thick wine that what I'm used... More

There ps a few great things to see here: * live bee hive, see bees swarm and do their thing * honey tasting - informative staff, great honey * activity area for the kids - really to take them out of the equation while you shop. Many of the products here (but not all) can be found elsewhere, cheaper. But... More

I visited this little house from the huka falls. A nice and informative house with nice tasting stations and a little shop. To see the bees was very awesome!
