Disappointing was expecting more. Loads of people, extremely busy. Amazing nature but thought they would be more spectacular.

Went on a hike for 25km. From the town it is around 6km to the falls. Was a great walk and could see the rapids on the way. Very stunning views. Went to the hub cafe after (800m away) which had nice burgers and then headed to the Waireke spa (another 3km). Was a great day out!!

The falls may not be tall in height but the water volume is incredible. The color is a very nice turquoise which is enchanting. If you can walk a little of trail on the same side as the car park u get a much better spot to see the falls. Most people are on the opposite side.

These falls are fantastic and ferocious. The place can get really busy as they are literally next to the car park. However the walk there from Taupo is stunning along the river. I prefer visiting the falls in winter when it's quieter but overall a great spot.

While staying at cottage mew motel, we drove down to see this spectacular water falls which is a must see while in New Zealand. Quite natural and romantically amazingly blue water gushing through narrow stretch is really a treat to watch. You feel really relaxed in thus blissful atmosphere.

We visited the falls in February. We went on the river cruise which was fantastic but I would recommend accompanying this with the walk and viewing platform. The sheer volume of water is amazing and the information provided by Dave on the river cruise is invaluable! Must see if your in the area

Stunning and impressive views. If you are running late (the carpark closes its gates at 6pm) you can park in front of the gate.

What a phenomenal act of nature. Simply marverlous. I do enjoy seeing the wonders of Mother Nature. We parked in the car park across from the Falls. From the car park it was an easy 3/4 minute walk to the viewing platform. You first walked over the bridge going over the rivers and could marvel at the sheer force the... More
