Located among vineyards you'll enjoy the scenery and course challenge when you play at Marlborough Golf Club, Fairhall, Blenheim. Founded in 1900, it's one of New Zealand's oldest courses. The par is 72 over 6052 metres off the blue tees. With only 400 members the course is never crowded. It's a friendly club where visitors are extremely welcome. Usually you can tee off without having to book a time. It's easy walking with a variety of trees and terrain, water hazards and out of bounds in the vines making it a good test of golf. Each hole is different from the next. The course is extremely well maintained by Gavin the green keeper ably assisted by club volunteers. Having an extensive course watering system in the sunniest place in the country also helps. The new clubhouse offers great home-cooked food by Carolyn and choice local wines from the club's sponsors, so the 19th is well worth a visit after your game. The club is 8 minutes' drive from Blenheim town centre and near many of the region's top cellar doors. A round of golf with us is an essential stop during your visit to Marlborough. We look forward to seeing you soon.

This is a lovely golf course surrounded by vineyards with beautiful scenery. The club house is very nice with very friendly people. It is an interesting course although both my husband and I feel that the best most interesting holes are on the first 9. There are a couple of minor hills along with a stream and a couple of... Fantastic golf course surrounded by vineyards makes for picturesque backdrops on multiple holes. Add to that a medium length but very challenging course for all players where accuracy and straightness rewards the player with good scoring opportunities. Out of bounds on a number of right hand boundaries can add mental anguish for those whose tendency off the tee is to... More

This is a good dry weather Course - can be a bit "heavy" after/ during rain ... with fairly difficult rough nearby... There are I think 14 holes with Out of Bounds to the right - ok if you're a straight hitter, and there is a stream or two meandering throughout and a couple of ponds. It's not too long... More

We were staying with friends in the area and decided to try this course. We found it to be a pleasant course, playing around some local residents and amongst the vineyards with lovely scenery in the distance. Buggies can be hired but we prefer to walk, it's good you still get a choice here. Some of the holes were challenging... More

We played a couple of rounds in November and was pleasantly surprised considering the green fees. It is quite typical of a New Zealand countryside golf course. A few challenging par fours, namely the fourth where you are required to lay up and then hit up to an elevated green across a water hazard. Best aspect of the course would... More

My wife and I plus a friend played the course on a lovely sunny day. Whilst it is not championship standard it is not a track either. The views are spectacular and the course offers a good challenge. Some holes require good club selection. It's great value golf and is certainly worth playing. Some other reviews on here give the... More

Golf in New Zealand, in general, is hit and miss. This was a little of both. Beautiful club house, but completely empty. The two lovely people who were staffing the place were very gracious, made us sandwiches and sold us a beer. The course is typical, though not well marked. We appreciated the review before we started.

I played in a company sponsored tournament in October 2013. The course is a delight to play, interesting and varied so as to keep me interested and focused for the day. Excellent greens, well kept fairways and a lovely clubrooms. Will definately play again.

Good greens and a well layed out design amidst the vinyards. We thought we were able to play all 18 of the holes but were surprised the course is also used as a training facility for local youth. Their education unfortunately held up progress in completing the round. Strange...would not be acceptable in Holland.

A lovely little course, not super challenging, but a delight to play. It was in good nick in May, but apparently dries out without rainfall. Course superintendent was helpful and welcoming. Played on a Sat. morning and, without the Ladies club championships, would have been pretty quiet. Green fees - $35 Club hire (good quality) - $35 Would play there... More
