We walked almost all the way around the outside of the gardens plus a detour to the heritage rose garden over one of the bridges. The main rose garden and the New Zealand Gardens were highlights. Well worth a visit.

A lovely place to visit for free but lots of walking if it's a hot day. We did the tour on an electric vehicle. The driver was lovely and very knowledgeable and it took about an hour. Time after for a coffee in the on...More

Lovely garden beds, beautiful mature trees. I’d like to see more of the plants labelled. Many paths able to be wandered that are wheelchair friendly. Cafe and Toilets available as are guided tours.

Located right next to the museum and in the city center these are a must visit. It is free and a great way to sit on the green grass under the shade of big trees with lots of flowers all around.

Didnt walk the whole of the gardens as we were limited for time, but what we did do was beutiful, so many different types of trees and types of flowers. A perfect way to spend a day with a picnic and wine!!

You need to visit this spectacular botanic gardens !! Nice and quiet, really big ; we spend 5 hours inside and didn’t see every part of the park ! Do it !

More than likely there will be begonias is the greenhouse in flower. There could be several other plants in bloom depending on what the gardeners have been planting in some of the rotational beds.

You can get to the car park off Armagh St near the start of Park Tce and the end of Rolleston Avenue. You can drive through the park passed the tennis courts on the right and on to the car park on the left under the trees... More

I work at the Gardens, and yes, the Gardens are looking spectacular at the moment. Full of Autumn colours...dress warmly.
