This is a great venue for a family outing - very authentic and lots to see. When you go inside at the end to relax though - very tired and dated - an uplift would enhance the overall experience significantly !

It was a really great experience. We fed the eels which is something I've never done, and when we went into the kea enclosure, we had a kea land on us and try to steal my hat and poke a hole in my boyfriends jumper...More

Always worth the time to visit. The small scale gets you closer than most big zoos, and the birds especially are the stars.

I loved it here. You can be very interactive while feeding the animals including the wallabies that roam around free. The kiwi enclosure was amazing and it was reasonably easy to spot them. So much cuteness in a beautiful, well maintained landscape. I'd recommend this...More

The animals are great here and they look to be well looked after - which is not something you always see in the world! This was a nice change. I would recommend seeing it.

A great presentation of farm animals, especially rare breeds, native New Zealand birds and other animals. Allow at least two hours, even four hours if you choose to eat in the excellent restaurant.

We had a day before our flight out of Christchurch. This was a fantastic place to spend it. Very close to the airport, free luggage storage and a fantastic rental of a mobility scooter for one of our party. The fish and streams were slightly...More

Willowbank is a Wildlife Reserve so is outdoors but is relatively sheltered. Kiwi viewing is still guaranteed as the are in a Nocturnal House.
