The Court Theatre is New Zealand’s biggest professional theatre company. Our current home is in The Shed in Addington, Christchurch. The Court Theatre aims to enrich, support and sustain Christchurch and Canterbury audiences by providing theatre of the highest quality. The Court Theatre celebrates the New Zealand voice on stage, regularly programming original and established New Zealand theatre work as well as commissioning and developing original New Zealand plays. The Court also seeks to connect local communities with the rest of the world through shared story-telling, producing international, contemporary and classic plays that engage, challenge and inspire. The Court’s education and outreach programme supports this kaupapa by introducing new audiences to the organisation through various pathways and deepening levels of engagement for audiences.

First time visitors to the court theatre and it won't be the last, the theatre is an inviting space with an industrial feel. The staff were helpful and the theatre gave great views of the show. Chicago was excellent and I would highly recommend it....More

The Court Theater is Christchurch institution. They offer everything from classical theater to improvised comedy, contemporary New Zealand works to children's theater, and drama to musicals.
