Lovely to follow it through the city. From Margaret Mahy Playground, to the Strip frontage, to Hagley park and the Earthquake memorial. its a snapshot of the city's history. Well worth a stroll.

A beautiful and tranquil river that just winds its way through this troubled city. Love the place and remember it well before the quake. I did a punt along the river and it gave me a little taste of Britain. Worth the visit.

The Avon river gently flows through Christchurch. Many trails follow alongside it. Early morning walks through blooming daffodil patches as the steam rises off the water put your mind at ease. The river really adds a lot to ChCh and should be enjoyed by all!
