This is a real mix of old and new. Some places and shut from the earthquake and then there's the new re: start mall which has great little shops and food places. Easy to access Midlifejess.wordpress.

You have to admire the ingenuity of the people of Christchurch. Having lived through the destruction of their beautiful city, they have come up with ways to get back on their feet again. Well done. Although the city has lost its "landmarks" there are many new signposts around the city centre pointing you in various directions. So, look for the... More

That people had the foresight and nouse to set up and regenerate their businesses in unwanted shipping containers says a lot for the spirit abd get it done attitude of the people of Christchurch. Brilliant. Well done, we wish you well in your businesses for the future.

A very friendly atmosphere. I think Christchurch has after having a tragedy become a city with a healthy holistic attitude.

The re-use of shipping containers into shops has been used big style. Though, since we were there in mid... More

We went to the shops which were made from shipping containers which was pretty cool. We enjoyed stopping here but there wasn't a whole big range of shops to look at and so we didn't spend as much time here as we thought that we would. Worth a look though, but a lot of the shops are on the more... More

This is such a unique experience to shop at these containers. The shop owners must be congratulated for doing such a great job under difficult times. There is no reduction in shopping experience by visiting here.
