Although there are winding roads or a boat ride across a bay to get there, it's worth taking the time. There are a few walking tracks that start there, places to eat and historic places like the Stoddart Cottage to visit.

We visitede Diamond Harbour via the ferry from Lyttleton. The pace here is a slower one than over the water in CHCH, and it is s great place to unwind and relax.

Lovely drive from Christchurch around to Diamond Harbour! It was a lovely day so we decided to catch the small ferry over to Lyttelton to have lunch. Cost was $13 for a return trip. Lovely little place and they have many good walks to do...More

It is a steep 20 min walk on a good road surface. Fit oldies ok but if slow or infirm not so easy
